SUMMARY:
IsraAID Uganda is seeking a WASH Assistant to support field-level WASH activities in Nyakabande Transit Centre and host communities. The role focuses on water access, sanitation, hygiene promotion, community mobilisation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support access to clean and safe water for transit centre, refugee, and host communities.
Mobilise and sensitise communities and institutions on WASH practices using behaviour change approaches.
Assess WASH needs with Persons of Concern, refugees, asylum seekers, and host communities.
Support sanitation campaigns, latrine construction, desludging, wastewater, and drainage management.
Assist with management and distribution of WASH materials for project activities.
Prepare weekly updates, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and document key learnings.

Requirements
Must be a Ugandan national.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Community Health, Water Engineering, or a similar field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in WASH programmes in similar contexts.
Experience implementing WASH or public health activities, preferably in an international NGO or humanitarian context.
Knowledge of WASH behaviour change approaches such as CLTS, CHAST, MHM, and PHAST is an added advantage.
Strong facilitation, community mobilisation, computer, technical reporting, organisational, and teamwork skills.
