SUMMARY: CIC Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriter – Medical to support medical insurance underwriting. The role focuses on medical risk assessment, pricing, policy issuance, regulatory compliance, portfolio monitoring, and stakeholder support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review medical insurance applications, proposals, and supporting documents.
Assess medical histories, risk profiles, and eligibility to determine coverage terms.
Prepare quotations, policy documents, endorsements, and renewal terms.
Ensure underwriting decisions comply with company guidelines, insurance laws, and regulatory requirements.
Work with sales, claims, brokers, agents, clients, medical practitioners, and reinsurers on underwriting matters.
Monitor portfolio performance, prepare underwriting reports, and support audits and process improvements.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, or a related field.
Professional insurance qualification such as ACII, CII, or Diploma in Insurance is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in underwriting.
Strong knowledge of medical risk assessment and underwriting guidelines.
Good understanding of insurance regulations, underwriting standards, and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, collaboration, integrity, and professional judgement skills.
