SUMMARY: Save the Children International is seeking a Senior Specialist Livelihoods and Climate Programming to lead child poverty, livelihoods, climate adaptive programming, and social protection work in Uganda. The role focuses on technical leadership, programme design, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy, partnerships, resource mobilisation, and capacity building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical leadership for livelihoods, climate adaptive programming, social protection, and the child poverty portfolio.
Lead programme design and implementation in line with donor requirements, national strategies, and programme quality standards.
Build capacity of national staff and partners through training, mentorship, and coaching.
Support MEAL frameworks, evidence generation, learning, accountability, and safeguarding integration.
Provide technical input for funding strategies, donor engagement, proposal design, and business development.
Represent Save the Children in technical coordination, advocacy, policy dialogue, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
At least 5 years’ experience leading humanitarian and development programmes in livelihoods, climate adaptive programming, and social protection.
Understanding of the livelihoods, climate, and social protection sectors in Uganda.
Experience in climate-smart agriculture, natural resource management, social protection, and climate change.
Track record in business development or fundraising with institutional, philanthropic, and corporate donors.
Fluent English with strong writing, networking, representation, programme design, monitoring, evaluation, training, and capacity-building skills.
