SUMMARY: Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board is seeking an Awards and Certification Officer to support implementation of its awards and certification processes. The role focuses on transcript and certificate verification, records accuracy, document handling, and support for candidate and institutional queries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review dummy transcripts and certificates against candidate albums and other submitted records.
Verify the authenticity of transcripts and certificates, including logos, signatures, stamps, and seals.
Prepare and submit transcripts through the internal endorsement and authentication process.
Identify and correct discrepancies in certification documents and cross-check results with internal systems.
Guide and oversee the work of TVET Awards Clerks and handle queries from institutions and candidates.
Input accurate data into the awards system and ensure secure, traceable handling of certification documents.

Requirements
Honours Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health, or Medical Education from a recognized institution.
Advanced Tutors Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Education if the applicant lacks a basic degree in Medical Education.
Registration and a valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council or Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council.
Applicants with an Advanced or Higher Diploma awarded before 2002 may qualify if they also hold a qualification in Medical Education.
At least 3 years’ experience training nurses, midwives, or allied health professionals at certificate or diploma level in a health professionals’ training institution.
At least 2 years’ experience in setting, moderating, and marking written and practical assessments in a health professionals’ assessment institution.
