SUMMARY: World Vision Uganda is seeking a Project Assistant — Environment to support community environmental initiatives in Adjumani and Lamwo. The role focuses on project implementation, forest landscape restoration, agroforestry, climate-smart agriculture, community engagement, data collection, reporting, and support to vulnerable communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support implementation of project activity plans, field activities, and community environmental initiatives.
Provide technical support on sustainable natural resource management, climate-smart agriculture, forest restoration, afforestation, and nature-based enterprises.
Deliver training on ecosystem restoration, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable resource use, and income-generating activities.
Mobilize refugee and host communities for tree planting, soil conservation, environmental restoration, and climate change awareness.
Coordinate with farmer groups, World Vision teams, OPM, UNHCR, district leaders, and other humanitarian or development actors.
Collect data, track farmer group progress, prepare activity reports, and document lessons learned, success stories, and project results.

Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Forestry, Agroforestry, Environment, Natural Resources, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable communities and humanitarian programming.
Experience in community-driven project implementation is required.
Experience in landscape restoration, agroforestry, plantation management, nursery management, or climate-smart agriculture is an added advantage.
Good understanding of environmental and forestry issues in Uganda, especially forest landscape restoration.
Excellent English, Microsoft Excel, data collection, analysis, report writing, leadership, and organizational skills.
