SUMMARY: The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support the National Child Disability Assistance Programme. The role focuses on physical and neurological impairment screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, mobility, daily living skills, referrals, case management, and follow-up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guide early identification protocols for physical and neurological impairments.
Support prevention, screening, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and neurological difficulties.
Support diagnostics and appropriate fitting of assistive physical and neurological devices, technologies, and supplies.
Guide caregivers, parents, and CBR workers on mobility, independence, and daily living skills approaches.
Build capacity of government, local government, civil society, child homes, centres, and caregivers.
Support referral frameworks, reporting indicators, risk management, mentoring, and resource mobilization.

Requirements
Three-year Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
Other qualifications in disability assessments and neurology are essential.
At least 4 years of professional experience in diagnosis and rehabilitation work for persons with physical and neurological impairments.
Minimum 2 years’ verifiable experience working with children with physical and neurological disabilities.
Experience may be in lower health facilities or rehabilitation outreach programmes in community settings.
Evidence of disability rehabilitation work experience should be attached.
