SUMMARY: FAO is seeking a National Project Coordinator to support implementation of the Uganda REDD-plus results-based payments project under the FAO Representation in Uganda. The role focuses on project coordination, work planning, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, technical reporting, and compliance with FAO, GCF, and Government of Uganda procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead daily management and coordination of the project team and activities.
Coordinate project work plans, budgets, procurement plans, travel plans, and M&E plans.
Ensure development, updating, implementation, and monitoring of project documents throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate inter-agency, inter-ministerial, and implementing partner activities, including engagement with the Ministry of Water and Environment.
Support technical reporting to FAO and the Green Climate Fund and convene the Project Board or Steering Committee.
Represent the project externally and liaise with FAO technical units, partners, and implementing personnel.

Requirements
University degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in natural resources management, forest and/or land management, and REDD+ or halting deforestation.
Knowledge of REDD+ processes and at least one of the following: emission reductions actions, MRV, or forest and land monitoring.
Working knowledge of English.
Must be a national of Uganda.
Experience with intergovernmental bodies, multidisciplinary teams, partnerships, and technical or policy document preparation is desirable.
