SUMMARY: Mercy Corps is seeking a Graduate Trainee to support implementation of the GIRL-H 3.0 program in Karamoja. The role focuses on community-based programming for adolescent girls and young women, including support to safe spaces, SRHR activities, youth engagement, monitoring, documentation, and partner coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support planning and coordination of partner-led program activities, including safe space sessions, SRHR activities, financial inclusion, mentor meetings, community dialogues, and youth engagement.
Support organization of training sessions for mentors, peer leaders, and community stakeholders.
Assist in collecting and documenting program data using approved monitoring tools.
Support review of partner activity reports, data entry, and maintenance of program records.
Organize learning and reflection sessions and support documentation of program progress, challenges, lessons learned, success stories, and case studies.
Support coordination with local partners, community groups, and government departments, and manage GIRL-H social media handles while observing safeguarding and confidentiality standards.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, or a related field.
Demonstrated interest in gender equality, youth empowerment, SRHR, and community development.
Basic understanding of GBV, FGM, and adolescent girls and young women programming is an added advantage.
Must be a Karimojong with strong understanding of the local context, culture, and community dynamics in Karamoja, and able to speak local language(s) used in the region.
Basic knowledge of monitoring and evaluation, including data collection, documentation, and reporting, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and teamwork skills, with commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, ethical conduct, and willingness to travel to field locations.
