SUMMARY: The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development is seeking an Audiologist to support the National Child Disability Assistance Programme. The role focuses on hearing disability screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, referrals, case management, and follow-up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guide early identification protocols for hearing impairments at household, community, and facility level.
Support prevention, screening, treatment, and rehabilitation of auditory and vestibular difficulties.
Support diagnostics and appropriate fitting of assistive hearing devices and technologies.
Guide caregivers, parents, and CBR workers on hearing strategies and rehabilitation therapies.
Build capacity of government, local government, civil society, child homes, centres, and caregivers.
Support referral frameworks, reporting indicators, risk management, mentoring, and resource mobilization.

Requirements
Basic Diploma in Audiology.
Other qualifications in disability assessments and neurology are essential.
At least 4 years of professional experience in diagnosis of hearing disorders and rehabilitation work.
Minimum 2 years’ verifiable experience working with children with hearing impairments.
Experience may be in lower health facilities or rehabilitation outreach programmes in community settings.
Evidence of disability rehabilitation work experience should be attached.
