SUMMARY: The Public Service Commission is seeking an Assistant Commissioner to support water resources monitoring and assessment. The role focuses on policy support, strategic planning, water quantity monitoring networks, water resources assessment, disaster mitigation planning, and water resources information management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support development of policies and plans for water resources and land use monitoring and assessment.
Participate in reviewing and updating national strategic plans for water resources monitoring and assessment.
Support operation, development, and maintenance of water quantity monitoring networks.
Support development and implementation of water resources and land use guidelines.
Support research, area-based water resources management plans, and national water resources assessments.
Lead management and dissemination of water resources information and support disaster mitigation measures for floods and droughts.

Requirements
Must be a Ugandan citizen.
Honours bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or another Water Sciences field.
Master’s degree in Water Engineering from a recognised university or institution.
Minimum of 9 years of relevant working experience, including 3 years as a Principal Water Officer in Government.
Registration with the Uganda Engineers’ Registration Board is required for Engineers.
Postgraduate Diploma in Management or Administration is an added advantage.
